Yellow Heirloom Tomatoes
We've had a whole lot of fun trying out many different yellow heirloom tomatoes this spring. I think our favorite has been that fat one at the top of the bowl above called Fuzzy Peach. It is really fuzzy just like a peach and taste delicious.
I recently discovered that there are actually some great health benefits as well to go with these beauties. The International Journal of Food Sciences and Nutrition suggest that the benefits of the antioxidant may be greater when consumed via yellow tomatoes.
To put it simply, your body is suppose to be able to get more usable lycopene from the yellow varieties.

Heirloom Tomato Harvesting 2013
For whatever reason there might be for growing yellow tomatoes, I would simply state, be adventurous because they sure do look mighty pretty in big bowl of diversity fresh from the Texas garden.
I hope you don't miss out on the wonderful world of heirloom tomatoes.
Let's preserve them all for the love of future generations.
Happy Gardening!
